Diary of a Corper 18

21st May- 17th Day on Camp

Few days to the end of camp(...Camp ends on monday) and everyone is happy and relaxed. The soldiers are no longer strict like they used to be.

Morning parade was very light and i was back in my room before 7am to rest before going back for breakfast. After the morning lectures, the marching competition started and it was a glorious ceremony. Every eye were on them. They moved so swiftly and uniformely typifying one of the characteristics of the army of the Lord.

Joel  2:7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

My platoon(...winner according to most corpers) took the second position.

God has an army on earth right now. In the scriptures, only 3 sets of people were described as the army of the Lord: Gideon's Army-Judges 7, Joel's Army-Joel 2 and Ezekiel's Army-Ezekiel 37.

They have started giving us our first allowance and a lot of people are bent on drinking alcohol with it. Well, for me, it is the first money i will 'work' for. I see it as my first salary and so without opening the envelope, i dropped it as a seed in NCCF.

2 Corinthians  9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

I believe God to see me through the month.

After the contest, i slept for about 3 hours. NCCF drama night was really awesome; i kept on seeing a burning bush in my heart.

Cooking competition, Miss NYSC and Mr. Macho held in the evening, but i didn't attend(...things like that don't fascinate me).

I ate yam and potato throughout today(...God help me). Tomorrow's activity is still yet to be known, but i believe parade should stop now since the competition has taken place.

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Seven Years In Christ- Friends

After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again. I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%. This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in ...

Can You See Islam Imploding?

Islam has taken a major stage in the world today, with many western nations trying to find their feet in the face of millions of immigrants from Islamic nations. Several European countries are losing their own culture as the Islamic wave is taking over their lands already. While in Africa, nations are embroiled in Islam related conflicts that is claiming lives in millions. In many places, Muslims have become citizens and are beginning to contest for political offices. The current mayor of London is a Muslim. Same with the current mayor of New York. Scotland already had a Muslim PM. You see, there is no issue with a Muslim becoming a political leader other than the fact that true Muslims are territorial; their religion teaches them that the religion of the ruler is the religion of the land. Is this Islamophobia? Wait. What is Islamophobia? Why should anyone be Islamophobic? Is it because terrorists are Muslims? Or because Muslims threaten to slaughter anyone who slanders their religion?...
