Word For The 31st Week Of 2018

Topic: Hungry For God Text: Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; This week the LORD is calling us to be thirsty for Him in a way that is greater than how much we have been thirsty for Him in the past. Obviously, when this kind of call goes out, it is because there is an impending outpouring of the Spirit of God over the earth. The LORD is calling us to have greater capacities so that we can be able to hold the living waters. Our response to calls like this should be to spend more time with God. Our text says that we should enlarge, stretch forth, lengthen and strengthen. They all refer to an increase. The world is full of darkness and the light of the world must be able to suck adequately from the fountain of life because it is when we suck from the fountain of life that we will see the light in His light (Ps 36:9). We must not hold on to broken c

Topic: Faithfulness Text: 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. This week, the LORD is calling us to be faithful. The price and prize for faithfulness is at the greatest in the history of man. Faithfulness according to God's standard is simply carrying out the instructions God gives to us where He wants us to do it, when He wants us to do it and how He wants us to do it. As simple as it may sound, he lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life has made the price of being faithful to be very high. However, for a man that submits himself to walking in the spirit daily, it would be a work of Grace to the glory of God. At this time, the prize that God puts on faithfulness is also very great and the reason is because prophecies are being fulfilled. In these days, there are shakings going on in the heavens which is displacing the princes that have taken hold of territories and councils (Matt 24:29). The LORD is rai

Topic: Thanksgiving 2 Text: 2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as [being] from ourselves, but our sufficiency [is] from God, Last week, the LORD asked us to attain a heart posture of gratitude. This week, He is insisting on us becoming grateful for the things He has done for us. So, He has impressed it upon my heart to spend another week to study thanksgiving. Considering the text for this week, we see that Paul, as mighty as he was actually needed the input of God before He could be effective. The same goes for us too. God has been our sufficiency on all sides and that's why we should be grateful. In Psalms 48, the sons of Korah, who wrote the book declares that our God is beautiful for situation which means that there is no prayer request that gets to God's table and He won't know what to do! Another way to explain this is to use the analogy of a nursing mother. The woman is all the baby has and she provides everyth

Taxi Episode- Jesus Inside Bus!

I could have dozed off inside the Ajumose bus (the Ibadan version of BRT), but something woke me up. It was a voice that carried more than lyrics and melody. The effect it had on me was like that of a hotspot that has just detected a Wi-Fi. My aim was to rest my muscles as I was going home inside the bus, but the song this man is singing is triggering a chain reaction. For a while now, I have been meditating on the tangible presence of God and how to discover it even in a very secular atmosphere. Few seats ahead of me inside the bus, a man was singing a song and it was causing so much presence inside the bus. I could sense it. He was singing- "at the center of it all, it's You that I see". He kept on repeating that line, quite loudly. I know it is prohibited to do religious stuffs inside the bus, but the network is too strong for my hotspot not to connect. I damned the consequences and I began to sing along. I started with humming before I fully joined the sing

Topic: Thanksgiving- The Will Of God Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I welcome you to the start of a new month and the second half of this year. To start this half, the LORD would have us to be reminded of a key instruction in the scriptures concerning the will of God. When we are faced with decisions, we often seek to know the will of God and it is very important that we know what this will of God is. In the text for this week, we see obviously what the LORD wants us to do as His will in everything we find ourselves- give thanks! Thanksgiving is the will of God for us in any situation. When you don't know how to react, give thanks for it is the will of God. Thanksgiving is very certain to be at the center of God's will for us everything. It is often said that you can never praise amiss. It is true. Yes, there are unpalatable circumstances that you would be unreasonable to be giving thanks f
