Topic: Hungry For God
Text: Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
This week the LORD is calling us to be thirsty for Him in a way that is greater than how much we have been thirsty for Him in the past.
Obviously, when this kind of call goes out, it is because there is an impending outpouring of the Spirit of God over the earth. The LORD is calling us to have greater capacities so that we can be able to hold the living waters.
Our response to calls like this should be to spend more time with God. Our text says that we should enlarge, stretch forth, lengthen and strengthen. They all refer to an increase.
The world is full of darkness and the light of the world must be able to suck adequately from the fountain of life because it is when we suck from the fountain of life that we will see the light in His light (Ps 36:9).
We must not hold on to broken cisterns at this time. Philosophy, tradition of men and rudiments of this world will not help us. They are all broken cisterns and like the Prophet Jeremiah said of the children of Judah, we must not neglect the fountain of living waters at this time to run after broken cisterns (Jer 2:13).
I urge you to prioritize spending more time with God at this time, especially in praying in the Spirit. If you spend one hour per day, increase it!
Have a great week
