Of Types & Shadows: The Shofar

The old testament gives us a picture of the things that exist in the spiritual realm. Jewish tools or symbols are a picture of what is available to believers in the spiritual realm. For example, the Shofar, referred to in KJV as a trumpet, is a ram's horn that is used to make announcements. It started in the days of Moses where the Shofar was used to announce the arrival of God's presence on Sinai When the Jews hear the Shofar, it could be a summoning to worship, a feast or a call for war. In this testament, we send out announcement in personal and corporate prayers and/or worship. For example, when you pray for more intercessors to arise, someone can literarily hear a voice or feel a tap to wake up to pray. Your sound (not your voice) is like a shofar in the spirit. When you pray (especially when making a decree), the reach of your sound is just like the workings of the shofar. Don't confuse the reach of your sound with the loudness of your voice.
