Word For The 13th Week Of 2018

Topic: Understanding The Last Days (Part 2) Text: 1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. Last week, we considered this same verse which is an admonishion about how to live in this times. We really need to pay attention to the dictates of the last days as we approach the appearance of our Lord in the sky. This week, we will look at the second part of that verse which says we should be watchful in prayers. The Jews have times that they pray and they call it 'watches'. They have 8 watches that runs round the clock. Each watch is 3 hours and the first watch starts by 6pm. The Jews have this custom of praying always as they believe in communicating with God often. This is the same custom that Apostle Peter is selling to us in this verse. He is admonishing us to always pray in this last days. The essence of prayers in this times cannot be overemphasized. We must learn to always be connected to God so as to kno

We All Have Role Models

I once visited the principal of a public secondary school  and I met a very sad situation in his office. As I was approaching the office, I notice a lot of teachers in front of the office. It's not unusual for teachers to visit the principal, but today's was unprecedented. When I got to the front of the office, I had to peep in to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside the office. Some girls knelt down in from the principal and there were some sachets of alcohol in front of them. They were being interrogated strongly by the principal about the sachets of alcohol. The time was just past 11am. The girls had drank alcohol and they were caught by a teacher who brought them to the principal. The principal, gladly, didn't smile at the case. He handled it, to my pleasure, very critically. I had to stay outside till the interrogation ended before I could see the principal. Outside, I began to think. How did this girls know about alcohol? Who taught them about this? I

Word For The 12th Week Of 2018

Topic: Understanding The Last Days Text: 1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. This is the 12th week of this year and 12 is a very significant figure in the spirit. It signifies perfect government. At this time, we must be conscious of the government of God in the earth as time ticks to a close. Our God works with time which means that He has a particular thing He does at every point in time (Ecc 3:1). He is very strategic in His purpose for the earth as time passes. It is very important that we know what the time says according to God's plan so that we do not walk against the counsel of the Lord. The Jews didn't know that the Christ they were expecting was already in their midst, so they began to walk against the counsel of God on the earth while Simeon and Anna had seen even when Jesus was 8 days old. Several people are walking against the counsel of God for their life because they don't know what t

Topic: Making Disciples Text: Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Myles Munroe of blessed memory said that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. It is important that we know the essence of all that Jesus Christ did for us. The verse of our study for this week is preceded by an emphatic statement made by Jesus Himself. He said that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, so He commanded His disciples to go into the nations and make disciples. This means that the essence of the authority that Jesus collected is for us to make disciples in every nation. This is a calling that God rests upon the shoulders of men who have, themselves been discipled. The job of making disciples can therefore, be done by a disciple. Jesus discipled the 12 apostles before commissioned them to go and also make disciples. In this last days, verses o

Church Branding- Part 2

In the first part of this series, I stated clearly the importance of branding to a church or ministry. Growth is a result of deliberate actions and not just wishful thinking. I will enumerate some things that affect the brand if our church or ministry in this part. The brand of your church is decided by the people outside, but it should be influenced by the people inside. What I mean by this is that the kind of people in your church is a function of your brand. The people in your church came because they feel their needs would be met and they will be able to fit into your church. If you don't like the kind of people that have been attracted to your church in the past, you need to work on your brand by deliberately transforming the people into what you have in mind. The way the people in your church dress is a key indicator to the kind of brand the church offers. The church authority can consciously change the dress codes of the members if they are not convenient with the k

Church Branding- Part 1

Branding is a subject that has taken root in the organizational structure of the corporate world of Nigeria in the last 10-15 years. Churches are not left out of taking advantage of this very key aspect of an organization. Simply put, branding is how people see your organization. While we cannot fully determine what people say about our church, we have a big role in determining the kind of things that people say about us. Whether we are aware of the brand of our church or not, it doesn't change the fact that every single church or ministry has a brand. So, it is only wise to take charge of this vital area so as to get the desired results. The brand of your church determines many things in your church. A very key thing that the brand of your church decides is the kind of people that you attract. There are churches that attract illiterates irrespective of their location. It is as a result of their brand. The same goes for those that attract youths, elderly people or children

Topic: Loving The Brethren Text: 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for [ "love will cover a multitude of sins."] In several circles, the word for this year confirmed that the Lord is establishing kingdom structures in the spheres of influence of our society. It's a great idea that calls for noble men whose heart is like the Lord's. The men that will be used to bring this prophecy to pass are a people who cherishes the Lord and other brethren. The purposes of God is beyond a man, rather, it connects men. It is a work that has been been broken down into lines upon lines and precepts upon precepts. Every man in this call is connected to every other man in the call. We must be able to connect with ourselves to be able to bring about this call of God in its fullness. Rick Joyner once said that the church will never get to the peak of her assignment on the earth until she understands how much she needs each other. So many things
