In the first part of this series, I stated clearly the importance of branding to a church or ministry. Growth is a result of deliberate actions and not just wishful thinking. I will enumerate some things that affect the brand if our church or ministry in this part.
The brand of your church is decided by the people outside, but it should be influenced by the people inside. What I mean by this is that the kind of people in your church is a function of your brand. The people in your church came because they feel their needs would be met and they will be able to fit into your church.
If you don't like the kind of people that have been attracted to your church in the past, you need to work on your brand by deliberately transforming the people into what you have in mind.
The way the people in your church dress is a key indicator to the kind of brand the church offers. The church authority can consciously change the dress codes of the members if they are not convenient with the kind of brand they have. The kind of dressing that dominates a church is a function of the brand of the church.
For example, if you want to attract literates to your church, then you would want to encourage corporate dressing among your members and some conspicuous units like choir, ushering and protocol.
This will in no way water down the spirituality of the church, rather it would help to create channels of influence in desired areas.
