Diary of a Corper 9

12th May- 8th Day on Camp

Morning parade took another dimension this morning as we went for man o' war training. The training was really thorough;climbing, jumping,crawling(....our clothes got dirty). My clothes and shoes are quite big but i managed them.

We climbed a ladder called Jacob's ladder. Jacob's ladder in the bible is a ladder that touches heaven and earth on which angels ascend and descend.

After the parade, we went for a lecture(...people sleep mostly during the lectures).

Most of the market women(...they all look alike) understand english and they trust the corp members with money. If they dont have change, they give you the money with faith that you will bring it back.

I remembered the words of Jesus that we should be childlike(...not childish). A child doesn't think evil towards anyone and he doesn't think that anyone wants to do him evil.

One of the interesting activity of the camp is the trumpet that sounds at 06:00 and 18:00. When the trumpet sounds, everyone will stand still irrespective of what you are doing. It's like pausing the world for a minute.

Rapture will look like that. But most people see rapture as God's perfect escape route(...like a rescue helicopter) from a perishing earth. Rapture is a sign of victory for those who know their God and are doing exploits. We are not running away from the battlefield, we are going back home victorious to go and feast!

NCCF meetings have been very refreshing. I am seeing the vision more clearly.

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na...

Shameful Calling?

After my last story about David, the official bastard. I got a call from someone, a lady and she said "Olanrewaju, can you please share my story on your blog? It would encourage your readers". After considering it, I decided to hear it first, but after I heard her story, I knew it would be perfect for you! I interviewed her and this is what I got: Olanrewaju: Can you please share your story with me? My New Friend: I will tell you about my life before I got married. I was a very modest lady who attracted praises from her parents, respect from the church members, admiration from the young men and of course, envy from some sisters. However, I remained humble, purposeful and pure. Even the pastor used me as an example as he was preaching one of his long sermons. Olanrewaju (thinking): That's a wonderful rƩsumƩ! My New Friend: I got engaged to a young man in our church. He was God-fearing and he loved me with the whole of his heart. We had our introduction in a mod...
