Diary of a Corper 7

10th May-6th Day on Camp

Mangu(...Location of the camp) keeps getting colder by the day. Temperature is mostly around 20°C and they keep saying that this is their hot season.I go about in my hood and glooves.

Sunday is the best day on camp because there was no parade. Soldiers said it is the resting day. We were allowed to wear clothes other than white. I didnt attend biblestudy at all not to talk of taking a class; i got there very late and i discovered that teachers were not enough for the study(...i felt quite bad about it).

Yesterday, i was interviewed by NCCF; i don't know what it is meant for.

After service, i went to the kitchen(...it was the turn of my platoon to cook and i was placed in the group that will prepare lunch. They placed a mountain of yam before us. If you sit on a side, you wont be able to see the other side(...the yam was really much). I peeled 15 tubers(...which is probably the yam of a whole plot of land). While peeling, i sat among some igbo ladies who seem to be experts in the peeling of yams. I chatted with them, but at some points, they spoke Igbo language to themselves and i got lost. Immediately i remembered the secret language of the Spirit-Tongues!

Just like i couldnt understand the language of those ladies because i dont belong to their family, people who do not belong to the household of God dont understand Tongues! Don't be shy to pray in tongues, those who understand are listening and replying!

I sat admist some guys to eat lunch(...i didn't talk to these ones). They were talking about their experience in drinking alcohol.t

There is a drink that gives life, i mean it makes us immortal. The more we drink, the more we become more immortal.

Ephesians  5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

I slept after eating my lunch for a while; it was refreshing.

A party is going on presently in the market of the camp,but am on my bed. Parade resumes tomorrow by 5am.

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Seven Years In Christ- Friends

After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again. I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%. This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in ...

Can You See Islam Imploding?

Islam has taken a major stage in the world today, with many western nations trying to find their feet in the face of millions of immigrants from Islamic nations. Several European countries are losing their own culture as the Islamic wave is taking over their lands already. While in Africa, nations are embroiled in Islam related conflicts that is claiming lives in millions. In many places, Muslims have become citizens and are beginning to contest for political offices. The current mayor of London is a Muslim. Same with the current mayor of New York. Scotland already had a Muslim PM. You see, there is no issue with a Muslim becoming a political leader other than the fact that true Muslims are territorial; their religion teaches them that the religion of the ruler is the religion of the land. Is this Islamophobia? Wait. What is Islamophobia? Why should anyone be Islamophobic? Is it because terrorists are Muslims? Or because Muslims threaten to slaughter anyone who slanders their religion?...
