Your Love Story (Part 8): Embarrassment Again?

I sat in Rev’d and Mrs. Ogundeji‘s sitting room waiting for them to join me. I didn’t know what to expect. I have kept the entire situation away from them, but I know that I can’t hide it forever. They must be aware. Rev’d Ogundeji is a gentle man with a lot of experience in ministry as a Baptist Reverend. He has been my saving grace out of many tight points; especially when his wife begins her drama. With him, I know I would be understood, but with her wife also coming for this meeting, I am absolutely in trouble. Rev’d cannot control her temper and it has caused many calamities in his ministry. Seun took her Dad’s character. Humble, understanding and willing to give more room for change.

I prostrated as they came in. I focused on her dad and ignored her mum’s face. It was her Dad that spoke first. He asked why I have kept things from them. I defended myself by saying that I was handling it and I believe that things would come back to normal. Mrs. Ogundeji giggled. ‘You’re handling it?’ I continued by telling them I have the word of the LORD about it. Seun is coming back. Rev’d didn’t agree with me. He scolded me for the first time. ‘You should have said something’. His wife kept on interrupting his words before he sent her away. Wow! I have never seen this part of Rev’d before. He told me that they have had series of meetings with Seun and he doesn’t understand what happened that has made her resent me so much!

I explained the entire story from the day she received a call about a seminar. He gave a heavy sigh, rested his back on the sofa and sobbed! ‘Seun will return’, I urged him. He looked at me and doubt was written all over his face. ‘Seun doesn’t listen to us again. She will destroy my ministry’. He cried some more. I felt his sadness. I kept on telling him that she will come home. About 30 minutes later, I stepped out of his house to return to my house.

When I moved close to my car, I saw Mrs. Ogundeji. Her facial expression was sober. Really? This woman can be sober? I have never seen her like this. What could be wrong? She moved close to me. A part of me expected a slap. Yes, she disliked me that much. ‘Please, do your best to bring Seun back to her senses.’ I could only nod. Rev’d told me that he has given up on Seun. Who else can help? God is my help.

It’s almost two years since Seun left. She has changed her number and cut off every contact she had before. She has become another person entirely. Even the career she fought me over is no longer on track. Some said she was sacked, others said she resigned. For me, I will keep praying for her and continue to believe that she will return. She didn’t send any divorce letter to me, so I believe that I am still married to Seun. My friends have urged me to move on. I won’t. I will wait.

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of

Oranmiyan (Part 7: The Birth of Oranmiyan)

Before we look at the birth of Oranmiyan, it is necessary to learn about a certain man- Ogun. The war situation between Oduduwa and Obatala gave Oduduwa a lot of concerns. He gave birth to seven sons whom he sent into other locations to establish themselves and regard Ile Ife as their source. This is why we refer to Oduduwa today as the projenitor of the Yoruba people whereas, Oduduwa's family only took over the thrones of an already established tribe. It is historically inaccurate to refer to the Yoruba people as children of Oduduwa. Taking over a place and changing their culture completely is a pattern that is seen in a nation in the bible. That nation is Babylon. When Babylon takes over a place, they suck out their culture and give them Babylon culture. They take the best sons of the land and train them in Babylon ways so that the original culture of those people will be lost. This is what Nebuchadnezzar did with Daniel and his friends and the reason why the princes of Babylon d
