Taxi Episode- Weird Bike!

About 3 hours ago, I was on a typical Ibadan bike moving towards home to rest. This one however did something spectacular as he decided to stay in the center of the road. He almost caused commotion; perhaps he has drank the thing they use to drink. Cars were blaring their horns at us as they sped past us with very narrow space left to kick us out of the road.

One of the cars that sped past us had a bride in it. Of course she was wearing her gown and that was how I recognised her. I allowed my mind to stray off the bike and I entered her wedding. Wow! She must have danced away all her strength trying to beat her husband in the competition that gets everybody's attention. Well, help me tell her that she has won our own; she doesn't need to compete.

I remembered some of my friends in school. After they have ate concoction rice from Monday till Friday, they will put on fine cloths and move to town looking for a ceremony where they can eat something nice. They don't care who is celebrating or what they are even celebrating. They just want to eat! We call them mogbo, moya ( I heard and branched).

Some Christians are like that! They are only around to eat. Knowing the Lord and becoming like Him is none of their business. The knowledge of the Holy One is none of their business, they just want to eat. God is a problem solver to them and not a Father. Jesus is a generous bank manager and not a friend while the Holy Ghost is the hired assassin that does not miss road.

While some of these guys may find themselves in heaven, most of them will wind up outside the fence. Those that find themselves in heaven will not have access to the marriage supper of the Lamb. Nobody marries a stranger; not even Jesus!

Finally, I reached my destination and dropped from the bike with the weird driver; bless his heart!

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na...

Seven Years In Christ- Friends

After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again. I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%. This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in ...
