Christians and Elections

Nigeria is all set for her general election in and it is important that believers know God's word about election. All through the scripture, we see that the LORD supports government. His form of government is theocracy. This is what we will have during the millennial reign of Jesus on the earth. However, the best form of government for the fallen man is democracy.

In electing a new leader for a territory, God is always involved in matters that affect territories and so is the devil and wicked spirits in the heavenly places. God has a will that He seeks to be established however, He doesn't force a candidate on a people except they pray. Kenneth Hagin said that it is as if God is handicapped when we don't pray.

Paul said we should always seek to understand what the will of the LORD is. Prophets have been making differing pronouncements about who will win. It is important to note that a prophet seeing a particular winner does not mean that that candidate is the will of God. God's will is not fully established on the earth yet.

If you see any vision about the coming elections, make sure you seek for wisdom from God before you make it known. God definitely have a choice, however His choice may not win the election except there is enough prayers. God does not interfere in our affairs unless we call Him. In fact, His candidate may have been dropped at the primaries.

Now, as a believer, it is your responsibility to pray and vote. Our prayers have the legal right to oust the agenda of the wicked spirits over the nation that seeks to pervert the will of God. We must release enough spiritual energy to drive the counsel of God into manifestation. How do you choose who to vote for? Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. He knows who you are supposed to vote for. Yield to Him even if you feel otherwise.

Lastly, it is very crucial that you do not collect any form of incitement from any candidate because that would make you lose your authority in the place of intercession. Many prayers are being offered from a corrupt stand point and that is why we often do not have enough effective prayers.

Stay away from any form of bribe. The value of your vote means a lot to God as we are the only ones that can bring to pass His counsel on the earth. Do not disappoint God.

During the sojourn of Lamurudu in Egypt, what was going on in Egypt at that time was similar to what happened in Genesis 6:1-2 where demonic entities found a way to reproduce themselves in women to establish a race of beings that were not fully humans.
