Text: Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
In this season of increasing light, we are seeing a dichotomy between those who are disciples and those following for the sake of what they can get from God. Many of the last days event that we push to after rapture will actually take place here on earth or let me say, we will see a measure of it here on earth before we transit to heaven.
One of those events is what Jesus described in Matthew 25 using the parable of 10 virgins. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Take note that they are all virgins and they all have lamps which means that these 10 virgins have consecrated themselves to Jesus and they all have lamps which signify revelation knowledge.
A believer that has given his/her life to Jesus, consecrated himself/herself and even have revelation knowledge would be considered well above the average mark in this times, but it happened that this set of believers did not take part in the marriage supper of the Lamb. What was their error? They didn't have extra oil!
The extra oil became needful as time travelled forward and the bridegroom tarried. Their lamps began to grow dim which means that they could not see very well again. Why do they need lamps to enter with the bridegroom? It is so that they can recognize him when he comes.
Today, there are a lot of people whose light is growing dim because the time is getting longer and darkness is growing. As darkness is growing, their intensity of light could not handle the present situation and they could not see again. The last days is such that you need increasing light to be able to keep up with the pace of God and above the lust of the eyes, list of the flesh and the pride of life.
Many decades ago, there was no temptation called pornography, but it is abundant today. This is an example of growing darkness. As this is happening, if you are fueling your lamp more, you'll find out that you'll not be able to handle things. If you fail in the day of battle, your strength is little.
There are many Christians who are already campaigning against prophetic voices because they cannot see what God is saying through those prophets. There are some folks who do not see anything wrong with homosexuality because their lamp's intensity is dim. They cannot recognize righteousness again. This will happen to a lot more. Zechariah says two-third will actually be cut off in this last days.
The gap is getting wider. Extra oil refers to getting to handle spiritual truths yourself and not just be based on what is shared in church alone. You must strive to create time to fellowship. You can't survive without Him. Attend stretch prayer meetings. Don't let your lamp dwindle at all.
Shalom
