Last week, the LORD began to tell us of a separation that is already going on. A lot of activities are going on in heaven right now for the reception of the saints that overcome. One of those activities is the marking or sealing of men into several orders. God is separating individuals into the hot and lukewarm. Many parables of Jesus showed that the last days will lead to many separations.
In the book of Revelations, Jesus described the state of seven churches and one of them is the Laodecian church. This church felt they had a lot of things already so much that they were described as lukewarm. Lukewarm is a mixture of the hot and he cold. This is because they could not see their wretched spiritual state.
On the individual level, God is going to separate us into hot and lukewarm. Take note that this separation is among believers and not unbelievers which means that there are several camps among the believers. We are in the season where you cannot continue to fake things. You must press to the point of handling the realities of the life of God within us.
A believer referred to as hot is someone with an altar- a place where God consistently communes with the person thereby acknowledging his need for a Saviour. You cannot outsource this. Lukewarm Christians are the ones whose pursuit is man-centered and need-based. They do not pay attention to their spiritual state. Many have fallen into this situation, but because they are rich in material things, they are unbothered. The heart of the Father is not their concern, but His hands because they have not given their full allegiance to the master.
There is a tendency to say hot believers are those who pray loudly. That's not true. They are people whose heart can be easily reached by God when He has a word/burden. 'For He makes His ministers a flame of fire...'. When you have a walk with Him, He makes you into His image and as such your maturity and closeness to the Father of light ensures that you remain burning. This category are not perfect, but they do no indulge their imperfection.
Do not be a believer that is only interested in what you can get from the hands of God and have no love for what is in the heart of the Father. Change your direction. Be interested in your growth. Create time for Him. Fellowship. This is what ensures that you remain in Him. Shalom.
