Miss Maggi (Part 3)

As I approached home that evening, I started asking the Holy Ghost to share with me about Miss Maggi. The scripture that came up in my mind was that of the Samaritan man who helped the man that was robbed. I knew what He was passing across to me. The LORD wants me to help her. I was puzzled. Maggi does not need help! I am the one that needs help. I quickly counted about three ways I could use the Holy Ghost's help in working with her. You know that few minutes of foolishness where we try to convince the Holy Ghost that we are wiser.

While I was in deep thought concerning this matter, my mum entered my room. My mum is a typical Nigerian Christian mother who does not joke with prayers for her family; especially her children. I have been blessed many times by her prophetic unction that flows from her many hours of intercession. Her drive to seek God herself greatly rubbed on me. She has always told me to stop talking to myself. She considers it a taboo, but it's my own way of meditating. She walked in and asked if something was wrong about my place of work. I didn't want to give her anything to worry about, so I told her that everything is going on well. She took a deep breathe and said 'well, whatever, the LORD wants you to do in that place, make sure you do it on time'.

My resistance was broken. Her word to me was a clear word of knowledge. The verdict of the LORD is clear. It's left for me to choose which side I want to be. I wondered how the LORD arranges things. I needed a job, He needed a person to help Maggi. Just the same way the arrangement of Hannah's request and Israel's need for a prophet matched in Samuel. 'So, Dear LORD, now that You have set me up, how do I help Maggi? What sort of help does Maggi needs?' No reply! Wow! Great!

I had forgotten about helping Miss Maggi until I was dressing up for work the following day. As I was dressing, I heard the LORD say 'use a red tie'. Dear LORD, please, don't cross that line. You saw her reaction to a red cup. She almost injured me with the cup and she has made it clear that she doesn't like red. Why would I trigger the very thing that infuriates her?' 'Use a red tie.' I sank into my bed. 'Dear LORD, she will kill me today.' I kept the tie in my pocket as I moved to work. I found a place to knot the tie before entering the premises. Someone pulled me aside and asked if I am insane, I said no. Another person offered to exchange his tie with mine, but I declined.

I resume before Miss Maggi comes in so that I can arrange her schedule for the day. When she walked in, I welcomed her and followed her to her seat reading her schedule to her like I usually do. She sat down before looking at me for the first time. 'Coke, are you mad?' I knew it. I'm in hot soup.

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na

Oranmiyan (Part 7: The Birth of Oranmiyan)

Before we look at the birth of Oranmiyan, it is necessary to learn about a certain man- Ogun. The war situation between Oduduwa and Obatala gave Oduduwa a lot of concerns. He gave birth to seven sons whom he sent into other locations to establish themselves and regard Ile Ife as their source. This is why we refer to Oduduwa today as the projenitor of the Yoruba people whereas, Oduduwa's family only took over the thrones of an already established tribe. It is historically inaccurate to refer to the Yoruba people as children of Oduduwa. Taking over a place and changing their culture completely is a pattern that is seen in a nation in the bible. That nation is Babylon. When Babylon takes over a place, they suck out their culture and give them Babylon culture. They take the best sons of the land and train them in Babylon ways so that the original culture of those people will be lost. This is what Nebuchadnezzar did with Daniel and his friends and the reason why the princes of Babylon d
