Recently, there has been an outcry about some of the revelations coming out of Disney World. The world leading animation company has made it clear that she is deliberate at making cartoons for children that are non-binary and LGBTQ+. It caused many to cancel their subscription to the channel in a bid to protect their children.
Like I have always said, if you're not aware that a war for the world is going on, you will always be a victim of the weapons that are launched into the space. The arts and entertainment is a powerful tool in the business of influence.
Some days ago, I was at an ATM to withdraw. While waiting for my cash, my eyes flashed on the advert running on the machine. It's an entertainment show that would feature supernatural acts. I was glued by the headline which made me to read more. Then I saw that the gathering would have magic, contortion, daredevils, illusions etc.
The devil is using every avenue to influence us towards unrighteousness. Movies, music, arts and even cartoons. Cartoons are even very special as they are meant for children whose minds are still very open to different ideas.
Believers must ensure that the cartoons available to their children are well screened. Some of these cartoons are loud about some precepts that go against God's law like homosexuality. Some are just story lines that tend to teach another thing contrary to the truth.
For example, in Pixar and Disney's Luca, Luca and Alberto are sea monsters that can transform into humans out side of water. They were hunted by men who considered them monsters and dangerous, but the movie pictured them as another kind of creatures that need to be accepted. As good as this sounds, it paints a picture that water spirits are not so bad and should be welcomed. I'm sure no christian would allow a water spirit into their society, home or family. Our children's mind must be guided.
In Raya and the Last Dragon, Susu, the last dragon came back into the world after 500 years to save the world from drones that was ravaging the land. In the movie, the last dragon was some sort of a divine being who saved mankind. How do you want to teach a child that has seen this movie about the book of revelation where the last dragon is after the man child.
You may say that I am taking things too far. I am not certain whether these are deliberate attempts to discredit the bible teachings, but I am raising a concern that these cartoons can breed a generation that is against the scriptures. I may not have concerns about cartoons that do not go against a truth of the bible, but it is certainly worrisome to allow kids to feed on certain stories that paint a parallel picture of what is written in the bible. Many of us can testify to how hard it is to remove some of the errors that our sunday schook teachers taught us. Build up a child in the way he should go and he won't depart from it.
Christian parents cannot outsource entertainment of their children today. The world out there is no more indifferent about Jesus, the world is now anti-Jesus. We have to be careful. The situation seems to me like Joel 1:3-4:
Tell ye your children of it, and [let] your children [tell] their children, and their children another generation. That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
May your children be taught of the Lord
