A very interesting story was
narrated to me by a young man about a day his master received a visitor. They
lived in a remote area where the major occupation was rearing of livestock. He
master was relatively successful in the business and he has a large compound
consisting of some of his extended family members and many slaves.
We often take his flocks to
different pastures around, fed them and return them home towards evening. On
this particular day, we spent more time on the field as some of the sheep
needed extra care and we had to spend some time fending for them. On our way
home, we sang songs that we often hear from our master’s big stereo. His sound
waves from his stereo travels the length and breadth of his compound.
As we approached home, we noticed
the presence of policemen on the streets. It is an unusual thing to see
policemen in our area because the closest police station to us is in the next
village and the road network is so terrible that travelers pay a huge price to
visit us. Policemen are the last set of people to take the risk of plying that
road, so it was a big deal to see policemen in town.
We walked quietly past them as we
exchanged glances. We stopped singing as we approached the street that leads to
our house. Our shock knew no bounds when we saw policemen and soldiers on our
street. They were armed to the teeth. I have only seen soldiers like this in
movies. We wondered what is going on. As we moved towards our house, the
military presence increased. At a point, we had to do extra work to keep our
flock in line; especially when an helicopter suddenly showed up behind us
We got to our gate and directed
the flock towards their pen. Inside our compound was the heaviest presence of
the military. The cars parked in our compound showed that the reason they came
here was right inside this house. The security detail was huge. Everywhere was
quiet. Even our flock knew that something was up. Who is visiting us?
As we stood outside wondering
what was happening, two men suddenly came out of my master’s tent. My master, the
president of the country and the chief of Army staff! I was shocked and excited
at the same time. I never knew that my master had ties with the president. For
the president to visit my master, they must be very close. My master is quite
popular among the chiefs of the towns around, but I never knew that his fame
has gone this far!
In the evening, my master called
everyone in his compound for a meeting. I really wish he would talk about the
president’s visit. I wanted to learn more about their relationship. So I was
very happy when he began to talk about it. He said “I know you all saw the
president visit me this afternoon and you may have been wondering why he visited.
The president came to sign a deal with me. He wants me to make a pledge to him
that we would not attack the country”.
Really? A whole president came to
sign a peace deal with my master? Does it mean that the entire country is
afraid of just one family? It is true that we just migrated into the country
and we have fought some nations in the past, but I never knew that nations are
scared of us! With all the military might of the country, they are still afraid
of just one compound?
Does that story sound familiar? Abimelech,
the king of Gerar came to appeal to Abraham not to take thetheir nation. That’s
what it would look like in this times. That’s what the Spirit of the Lord will
do among sons in this last days. You will see Dominance, Respect, Enviable Brand,
Nobility, and Reverence in the sons of God like we saw in Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, Joseph, Moses and Daniel.
