Topic: Purpose and Destiny

Text: Romans 8:30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

It is no longer news that we are in the last days of this age and this must affect the way we live our lives because the bible tells us that this period is different from what we are used to. One of the ways of wisdom that we must apply our hearts to is God's purpose and destiny for man.

Our God does everything He does in sequence with an end point in mind. In other words, God has a purpose and destiny for everything He created. Man also has a purpose and destiny in God.

Purpose is different from destiny, but they are interlocking. Our destiny is simply our destination I.e. where we will end the entire race. Our destination is not heaven, but the bossom of God. However, heaven is an important junction in our journey. Where God wants every man to end is inside of Him. Heaven will pass away. Our destiny is just like that of Jesus. We must end inside of God.

Purpose, on the other hand is God's assignment for us, individually and corporately on this earth. It is important that we note that God's purpose is the sole reason why we are left back on the earth after we give our life to Jesus. Every believer has a call given by God and our life must follow God's plan to fulfill this call.

At this time, we must be a people that is following God's plan for our life because that is what God will eventually ask for when we get to heaven. The verse that we often quote on birthdays- Psalm 90:12 says that our days are numbered on this earth. We must be 'purpose-driven' and not 'success-hungry'.

I urge you to live your life according to God's plan as God does not reward success, but fulfillment. Follow hard after God's plan for your life and you will find all you need for your life in the path.

Our journey will begin by identifying who the Yoruba people are. From the stories and relics of the children of the tribe, it is obvious that the projenitors of the tribe were deeply rooted in sorcery. Especially those who constitute the royal families. During the sojourn of Lamurudu in Egypt, what was going on in Egypt at that time was similar to what happened in Genesis 6:1-2 where demonic entities found a way to reproduce themselves in women to establish a race of beings that were not fully humans. These creatures were very big that they were called Giants. They had 6 fingers and toes and unusual strength. Bible refer to them as Nephilims which means mysterious beings who are large and strong. Some other meanings called them fallen ones. They had supernatural abilities and they preyed on full humans. The situation was like what was portrayed in Harry Potter that had pure bloods, half bloods, mud bloods and muggles. The pure bloods were the witches whose both parents are also witches, half blood is a witch with one parent as witch, mud blood has both parents as normal people and muggles are non witches.
