Topic: Leaning On Her Beloved
Text: Song of Solomon 8:5 Who [is] this coming up from the wilderness, Leaning upon her beloved? I awakened you under the apple tree. There your mother brought you forth; There she [who] bore you brought [you] forth.
I came across this verse of the bible in 300L when I read a material by Pastor Mick Bickle of the International House Of Prayer. Since then, the scripture has stayed with me and while I prayed this morning, the LORD brought it back to me as the word for this week.
The verse explains a scene where a woman, leaning upon her husband whom she loves, is coming out of the wilderness. The woman signifies the bride of Christ which we are and the beloved is our Jesus. The wilderness in the bible signifies a place of unpleasant experiences where you are tested and made to grow into a particular posture.
This scripture is very reassuring as we can now see that the LORD Himself is aware of our many struggles and He is not just aware, but He is also with us in the very struggle. This should encourage our heart and trust more in His love for us.
What is happening to us is similar to what David declared in Psalm 23:4
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [are] with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
The LORD is with us despite the situation.
For every calling of God upon our life, there is a corresponding strength that is available to us. So whatever God has called you to be or do, trust Him to fulfill it. No matter how big it looks, trust in the LORD to do the will of the LORD.
We read the new creation realities and we see how far we are from it when we consider our experiences. We read the prophecies of our days and we see how far we are from the description of the believers of the last days, yet the LORD is assuring our hearts this week that we should lean on Him to come out of the wilderness.
I urge you to believe in the ability of the LORD to take you to the promised land where all that He has said about you will be a reality. Don't trust your strength, trust in the LORD with all your heart.
Have a great week
