Taxi Episode- Singing in the Taxi

Last month, I attended a program that was tagged Tongues and Worship. It was a meeting that was filled with several revelations about songs. I am not musically inclined, but I held on to some things that was shared.

A particular statement made by one of the preachers that music doesn't need my permission before it enters into my soul, has stayed with me till this moment. I have made some decisions as a result of the statement.

I have always loved to preach to people when I enter a taxi, but I have always had constraints which ranged from my inability to preach fluently in Yoruba to fears. However, since Tongues and Worship, I started doing something.

When I enter a Taxi, I would start singing a bit aloud with my heart focused on making the songs enter the other people in the car. So far, it has been awesome with supernatural things happening in the cars.

The atmosphere of the taxi becomes exactly as if I am preaching in words and everyone keeps quiet. Even the driver that was playing a Fuji song had to lower the tape so that he could hear my song.

A particular one that resonated strongly in my heart was when I was about to drop from the taxi but I wanted the atmosphere of the taxi to remain the same, so I passed the 'current' to anyone who can pick the signal to continue singing. Suddenly, a lady that has kept mute all the while began to sing too.

When I hear Christians say that we can listen to any kind of songs, I marvel at such. I pray that we will all come to the point where we approve of things that are excellent. Songs are not natural, they flow out of a realm that is beyond the perception of the 5 senses.

Guard your heart from songs that do not feed the seed of Christ and make use of songs to feed others with Christ.

Can You See Islam Imploding?

Islam has taken a major stage in the world today, with many western nations trying to find their feet in the face of millions of immigrants from Islamic nations. Several European countries are losing their own culture as the Islamic wave is taking over their lands already. While in Africa, nations are embroiled in Islam related conflicts that is claiming lives in millions. In many places, Muslims have become citizens and are beginning to contest for political offices. The current mayor of London is a Muslim. Same with the current mayor of New York. Scotland already had a Muslim PM. You see, there is no issue with a Muslim becoming a political leader other than the fact that true Muslims are territorial; their religion teaches them that the religion of the ruler is the religion of the land. Is this Islamophobia? Wait. What is Islamophobia? Why should anyone be Islamophobic? Is it because terrorists are Muslims? Or because Muslims threaten to slaughter anyone who slanders their religion?...

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Seven Years In Christ- Friends

After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again. I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%. This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in ...
