Before we look at the birth of Oranmiyan, it is necessary to learn about a certain man- Ogun. The war situation between Oduduwa and Obatala gave Oduduwa a lot of concerns.
He gave birth to seven sons whom he sent into other locations to establish themselves and regard Ile Ife as their source. This is why we refer to Oduduwa today as the projenitor of the Yoruba people whereas, Oduduwa's family only took over the thrones of an already established tribe. It is historically inaccurate to refer to the Yoruba people as children of Oduduwa.
Taking over a place and changing their culture completely is a pattern that is seen in a nation in the bible. That nation is Babylon. When Babylon takes over a place, they suck out their culture and give them Babylon culture. They take the best sons of the land and train them in Babylon ways so that the original culture of those people will be lost.
This is what Nebuchadnezzar did with Daniel and his friends and the reason why the princes of Babylon did not like Daniel was because Daniel insisted on the ways and God of the Jews. This is what Oduduwa did to the Yoruba. Remember that his origin is the middle east where his pattern of life was similar to that of Nimrod, the father of Babel.
This is one more proof that the man regarded as Oduduwa couldn't have started his journey from Egypt because Egypt does not colonize and suck out cultures. They allow you to retain your culture as long as you remained bowed to them. Oduduwa did his best to suck out the culture of the Ife people and established a new narrative which enthroned him and his children.
As successful as his plan was, he had many wars to fight even outside Ile Ife because his sons met people in the places that he sent them to. To have a superior hand, Oduduwa devised a means to establish another race in the land just like they had in Egypt. He needed a Nephilim to conquer his enemies.
His learning in sorcery paid off when he was able to produce a Nephilim through the wife of one of his most trusted soldier- Ogun. Ogun was a strong warrior who had the ability to 'speak to metals' using sorcery. He was a fierce supporter of Oduduwa. Some even regarded him as the commander of the forces of Oduduwa.
During one of his battles, he came back home with slaves. One of which was a woman named Lakange. Ogun loved her and decided to marry her. Oduduwa, seeing the love affair saw an opportunity. He would offer Lakange to the spirit- Oduduwa as wife. If it works, Oduduwa would plant his seed in her and she would give birth to a Nephilim that Ogun, his loyal warrior, would raise on his behalf.
His plan worked out and Lakange gave birth to a giant baby. It was said that Ogun had sexual relations with Lakange while she was pregnant, so the baby is regarded as having two fathers- Oduduwa and Ogun. The baby was named Oranmiyan meaning 'my issue has been resolved'. This name certainly came from Oduduwa because he saw the giant baby as the solution to the wars he was facing at that time.
