Oranmiyan (Part 4: Lamurudu vs Oduduwa)

After being forced out of his land, Lamurudu settled in Egypt for some time where he deepened his knowledge in sorcery. He learned several patterns of rituals which still exists in some parts of Ijebu today. At that time, the Egyptians have developed so well in the worship of their gods who were originally men.

The concept of gods begins with a man encountering a demonic prince who is looking for obeisance from men. These princes have the same goal as Lucifer. Once they begin to get attention from a man, the man begins to take up their (dark) nature because it is a law in the spirit realm that whatever you behold, you become.

The consecration of these men to the worship of the princes led to the reproduction of the abilities and characteristics of the prince in the man, so the man becomes great among other men. Most of these men takes up the name of the prince that they worship such that when the man dies, you can keep calling his name and the prince responds to your request thereby establishing a dynasty/generation that worships that prince as a god.

This was the settings that Lamurudu met in Egypt and in his sojourn there, he found a prince too. The name of that prince is Oduduwa. Lamurudu fellowshipped with this prince till he took up the nature and name of this demonic prince. So, he entered as Lamurudu, but became Oduduwa. This is why there is no record of Oduduwa before Egypt. All historical material point at Oduduwa being an Egyptian. No. Oduduwa was never a man. He is a demonic prince that exists till date. He, just like every other prince, seeks obeisance from men. This is why Yoruba people are referred to as children of Oduduwa.

An example of it in the bible is in Ezekiel 28 which talks about a certain king of Tyre. Verse 1 to 10 talks about how the man wanted to be a god and did terrible things in the pursuit of this. Then from verse 11, the narrative, still talking about the same king of Tyre, suddenly changes to Lucifer. How he was in Eden and made with great stones. So, we have two personalities with the same name. One is a man, the other is a spirit.

This is the same pattern for Lamurudu. He entered this same pattern and learnt from a man called YARIBA. Yariba taught him how to fellowship with demons and Lamurudu began to fellowship with a prince called ODUDUWA. This is why there is no record of Oduduwa before Egypt. The name Oduduwa was first mentioned in Egypt

The Ijebus believe that they are direct descendants of the ancient Nubian tribe of Egypt because of the similarities in ritual patterns and linguistics. So, Lamurudu entered Egypt as a king, but left as a man who had fellowshipped heavily with a prince called Oduduwa so much that he began to introduce himself as Oduduwa. This is where Oduduwa came from. So, I agree with those who say that Oduduwa is a god.

Lamurudu became so skillful that Yariba became jealous. It led to a fight and Lamurudu had to leave Egypt. He moved in phases. Stopped in Sudan for a while, then North east Nigeria, North central before settling in Ile ife.Lamurudu would have loved to stay in Egypt, but his territory was heavily contested by men of similar stature. So, he had to leave.

Lamurudu, possessed by Oduduwa, set out of Egypt in search of a territory he can take over for himself. That territory would eventually be Ile Ife. This is why some Yoruba historians would insist that Lamurudu never existed in the story of the Yoruba race. They speak of Oduduwa as the projenitor.

Those who regard Oduduwa as a man are correct because of the way Lamurudu morphed into Oduduwa, but those who refer to Oduduwa as a god are more correct.

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Seven Years In Christ- Friends

After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again. I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%. This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in ...

Can You See Islam Imploding?

Islam has taken a major stage in the world today, with many western nations trying to find their feet in the face of millions of immigrants from Islamic nations. Several European countries are losing their own culture as the Islamic wave is taking over their lands already. While in Africa, nations are embroiled in Islam related conflicts that is claiming lives in millions. In many places, Muslims have become citizens and are beginning to contest for political offices. The current mayor of London is a Muslim. Same with the current mayor of New York. Scotland already had a Muslim PM. You see, there is no issue with a Muslim becoming a political leader other than the fact that true Muslims are territorial; their religion teaches them that the religion of the ruler is the religion of the land. Is this Islamophobia? Wait. What is Islamophobia? Why should anyone be Islamophobic? Is it because terrorists are Muslims? Or because Muslims threaten to slaughter anyone who slanders their religion?...
