Intercession: Following Daniel's Footsteps

The need for intercessors in the earth today, is at the highest level in the history of mankind. This is because the will of the Lord, needs facilitation to be established as the Age is fast rounding up. Kenneth Hagin, in his book- The Art of Prayer, said that 'it is as if God cannot do anything except a man prays'.
Intercession, therefore, is very key to the fulfillment of God's will in an individual, community, nation, and the world at large.

In the bible, we see several men who played this intercessory role, and got tremendous results. From Abraham, to David, to Elijah, Daniel, Jesus, and Paul; we see different patterns of intercession. At this moment in time, the Lord would have intercessors pay attention to the pattern of intercession pictured in the ministry of Daniel.

Daniel's ministry was in captivity, and he was involved in many noble assignments with different kings, but his intercessory ministry never suffered. This is the first lesson I want to draw out. Daniel was so consistent in prayers that when his political opposition wanted him out of their way, they had to use prayer! In these days, God is teaching many of us to be kings and priests, such that we can sustain the impact we have on both ends.

Another vital lesson from Daniel, is the research that fuels his prayers. Daniel paid good attention to researching the word of the Lord about Israel's captivity, and this raised a platform for his prayers. Research is very key to our prayers because we are at the last lap in the scheme of things for this Age, and we must know that God has said many things about communities, nations, and the earth; things that must come to pass before the Age closes. These words must be the content of our prayers. Daniel read the prophecies written by Jeremiah, and that fueled his intercession for the release of Israel.

It would interest you to know, that Daniel and Jeremiah lived in about the same period of time. Yet, Daniel took the words of the prophet who was left back in Jerusalem, very seriously.
Nigeria, for instance, has a lot of prophecies that have not been fulfilled. I did a compilation of the prophecies last year, and I was shocked at the number of words that were still unfulfilled over the nation. Many of them were proclaimed in different meetings in the 1980s. I was also surprised to see prophecies about Nigeria from meetings held in USA, London, Argentina and many other countries.

Just like Daniel, I have an understanding by books, of the things that God would like to do in Nigeria in these last days.
Daniel is a prototype for us in this Age. We must learn from him and apply the lessons to our assignments. I find the call to intercede, higher than before, in this period. I want to believe that you also, have a witness to that.
Pay more attention to your call at this time, and let's birth the desires of God on the earth!
