Letter To You- Of Your Playlist

Dear Friend,

It's been a long time since I wrote to you. I have always had you in mind, though time has not been favorable, but today, I have decided to steal some time to write to you. All has been very well with me. Hope you have the same testimony too? Your music ministry nko? I want to tell you about what my playlist.

I have seen several Christians advocate for some kind of music in recent times. Over time, there have been very serious arguments about the kinds of songs acceptable to God. Criteria like lyrics, tune and life of the artist have been the major yardsticks for differentiating between 'gospel' and 'secular'. You know I don't like arguments, so I mostly stay away from such discussions.

When someone comes on the social media and says some songs are not good for the believer, people call him a hypocrite or 'holier than thou'. You must have been seeing such posts on Facebook. They way people abuse of Facebook these days, you would think there is a University where they learnt it. Well, whatever comes out of us shows what resides within us.

My friend, can you remember one teaching we heard on campus. The pastor told us that 'Christianity is about Life (Zoe) and Zoe is tangible. Whatever you do that is devoid of Zoe is religion even if you have a bible verse to back it up. Zoe is the real deal. And, Zoe is in measures. There is a measure of Zoe that Jesus said can be in abundance'.

Now, I have learnt that singing a song is about Zoe. We must know that the kind of songs that attract our soul have a lot of implications because in the kingdom, like poles attract and unlike poles repel. That is why the Deep will call unto the Deep. If the Deep calls unto the Deep, who will the Shallow call unto?

Take for example, the Psalms. Do you know that they are not just lyrics? They are real and alive! They happened. They are a records of encounters and dealings that are tangible. Songs that are of Life (Zoe) are birthed out of encounters. What was Isaiah talking about when the LORD GOD has become His song? Something must have happened.

If your playlist is full of the songs with good lyrics and awesome genres, but no Zoe, it simply shows your depth. My new friends and I are launching into some depths where many 'gospel' songs are no longer satisfying. My own secular is one that cannot satisfactorily capture what I am seeing in my heart.

We have had meetings where all the songs we sing would be completely 'tear rubber' songs from heaven. We would hear angels singing it and we join. At times, we would even dance the kind of dance we see angels dancing. They are nothing like what we see on TV.

It's always awesome. I really wish you are having the same experience over there. I have tasted some things, I cannot go back to those days any longer. Please, check your playlist again. It shows your depth in God. I am still following Jesus everywhere. Anywhere I see Jesus, I run there.

In case you are wondering, I am still as gentle as I used to be in those days. I hope to see you soon.

Your Friend,
GentleGiant

Oranmiyan (Part 3: Origin of Yoruba)

Our journey will begin by identifying who the Yoruba people are. From the stories and relics of the children of the tribe, it is obvious that the projenitors of the tribe were deeply rooted in sorcery. Especially those who constitute the royal families. Their blood lines is soaked in idolatry, divination and sorcery. They know how to access principalities and powers and learn their worship modes. There are many stories about the origin of the Yoruba race. The Yoruba race has two major stories about their origin. One is supernatural. The other is natural The supernatural or divine one said that the supreme being, God, sent a god- Obatala to come and create the earth, but he got drunk and God had to send another god- Oduduwa. This is what some people hold. This school of thought has several loopholes chief of which is that Oduduwa entered Ile Ife in 11AD, but Ife Arts, according to carbon dating goes way back as 500BC which means that there was life in Ile Ife before Oduduwa came in. Oranmiyan (Part 4: Lamurudu vs Oduduwa)

After being forced out of his land, Lamurudu settled in Egypt for some time where he deepened his knowledge in sorcery. He learned several patterns of rituals which still exists in some parts of Ijebu today. At that time, the Egyptians have developed so well in the worship of their gods who were originally men. The concept of gods begins with a man encountering a demonic prince who is looking for obeisance from men. These princes have the same goal as Lucifer. Once they begin to get attention from a man, the man begins to take up their (dark) nature because it is a law in the spirit realm that whatever you behold, you become. The consecration of these men to the worship of the princes led to the reproduction of the abilities and characteristics of the prince in the man, so the man becomes great among other men. Most of these men takes up the name of the prince that they worship such that when the man dies, you can keep calling his name and the prince responds to your request thereby es

Oranmiyan (Part 5: The gods of Egypt)

During the sojourn of Lamurudu in Egypt, what was going on in Egypt at that time was similar to what happened in Genesis 6:1-2 where demonic entities found a way to reproduce themselves in women to establish a race of beings that were not fully humans. These creatures were very big that they were called Giants. They had 6 fingers and toes and unusual strength. Bible refer to them as Nephilims which means mysterious beings who are large and strong. Some other meanings called them fallen ones. They had supernatural abilities and they preyed on full humans. The situation was like what was portrayed in Harry Potter that had pure bloods, half bloods, mud bloods and muggles. The pure bloods were the witches whose both parents are also witches, half blood is a witch with one parent as witch, mud blood has both parents as normal people and muggles are non witches. At that time in Genesis 6, the Nephilims had created another race on earth that paralleled the pure humans. This what why God sent
