Men with Secret Tears

Recently, I saw a chat I had with the vice-president of my fellowship in college when I was president. As you may have known (if you follow my blog well) that I was privileged to lead my fellowship. The chat was thus, between the president and his vice.

I was telling him about how I felt concerning my health at that time and he told me not to say such again because I am supposed to be helping them and not be the one seeking for help. He was right, but I was not alright.

I once bought a book titled "The Effective Pastor". I couldn't read much of the book because it has a lot of English words that I am not used to. I couldn't read two sentences without opening the dictionary. I got bored and I dropped it.

Before I dropped the book, I read the first two chapters and from the little that I read, I got something very important. As a student pastor, I didn't know so much, but I knew enough to know that a Christian leader is seen as a man that is perfect all round.

The book taught me that Christian leaders find it very hard to ask for help because they are the ones that are meant to be giving the help and not getting it, however, the leader must learn to call for help too when he needs it. He must be sincere enough to call on those that are ahead of him whenever he is in need.

Somehow, every leader seems to face this issue. Lately, I have been on a job hunt and there is this job I am writing exams and getting interviewed on. I told some of my friends in the church about it, but they all seem to feel that Olanrewaju can handle it. Yes, I am handling it quite well, but I just feel that someone would at least ask about it.

I have spent nights encouraging people and days praying for them. How about a "how are you" from someone? I may not say beyond "fine", but it means so much to me and I am sure it means so much to your Pastor too.

Pastors are human. They have challenges and they often get "sick" of everything. Pastors need encouragement from the flock. Encourage your pastor today; you could be saving a life. They come to church wearing a very wide smile and at times, laugh and we think that all is well with them. Many are men with secret tears...

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of ...

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na...

Nine Years As A Scribe

So, last night, I was meditating about the things that God is doing in this times and it dawned on me that we are in a period where our minds are being bombarded with images, video and text. We are in the greatest period of media height. Everywhere you turn, you see something waiting for your mind to feed on. You're not free at any point in time from the floods coming from the various platforms. Majority of the contents in recent years are immoral and the cry for biblically sound and creative content has been going on for some years. Thank God for the success that we have recorded in the past few years. The media is being used to project several images into our minds. I did a small social experiment last month. I was speaking to a group of young boys in a school about Bobrisky. I asked how many of them would like to be like him and no one raised hand. Then I changed the question and said that if I tell you that I would give you 1 million every month and all I want from you is to be...
