After an official meeting with executives of tacsfonOAU |
When I resumed for the second year in college, I saw a result of the previous year and it was 39%. I couldn't believe what I saw because it was definitely not commensurate with my efforts. I wept quite bitterly and promised God that He wouldn't see me around any of His assignments again.
I just joined a subgroup in my fellowship and I expected that my results will be better because of the several testimonies that I have heard from people. As I was weeping, God directed three friends to visit the spot where I was weeping. It was a miracle that I wouldn't forget. They consoled me and encouraged me to take a step of checking the result with the coordinator of the course. Eventually, my result was changed to 62%.
This is one of the many times that the Lord has used brothers and sisters around me to stabilize me and keep me in line with His purpose. The role they have played in my last 7 years cannot be written in a page material. It is of immense value.
Times when we studied together and spent time to pray can not be counted. In my final year, I got ill and I wouldn't take any drugs because I was desperate to see the life of God in my flesh. It was a big battle as I couldn't eat or drink. The symptoms were scary, but I had brothers who would pray in tongues with me while I was vomiting and immediately I finish vomiting, I would join them in praying till the symptoms vanished.
One evening, I shared some of the dreams the Lord brought my way with the president of my fellowship. He interpreted them and encouraged me to press into God. I didn't understand what he meant by pressing into God. How can I press someone I cannot see? But I kept the word in my heart. Most of the authors I read today were introduced to me by christians around me.
It is always a lovely thing to have friends around. You remember that verse that says as irons sharpens iron so does a man sharpen the countenance of his friend.
Dear, your circle of friends have a long way to determine the pace of your growth. Your friends cannot be carnal-loving and expect them to help you grow in Grace. You need friends that you can learn from. Friends that will tell you about the book they just finished reading. Friends that will help to fan to flames the gifts of God within you.
One key way to get friends that will help you to grow is by becoming committed in your local church. Be a member of a unit. Don't join the folks that believe that everyone in the church is a hypocrite. There are men that the Lord is preserving by His mercy everywhere. Be friends with Christians.
I appreciate friends from The Apostolic Church Students' Fellowship Of Nigeria (OAU Chapter), Microbiology Christian Students' Fellowship (OAU Chapter), Christian Youth Alliance and Nigeria Christian Corpers' Fellowship (Plateau State Chapter). You have all contributed to how much of Christ I have become. Am grateful.
This is the fifth of the seven things I will be sharing about my 7-years journey in Christ
