Is Numerology Biblical?

Numerology is simply the study of the meanings of numbers. Psychics and all sorts of men have given meanings to the digits 1-9 and different inferences have been brought out of them.

The bible also alludes to the truth that numbers have meaning. The bible is filled with numbers and they are not just to fill the spaces in the bible as they have specific meanings. Dates, measurements and ages gave numbers a large space in both the old and the new testaments of the bible.

Many have argued that these are just specifications with no meaning. That would contradict what Jesus said in Matt 5:18, that one jot or one tittle in God's word shall not go unfulfilled.

A jot or tittle refers to a tiny part of a thing and numbers is definitely bigger than a jot or tittle in the bible. Paul, later on tells us that the entire scriptures is by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and this includes the numbers therein. The book of Revelation further seals it with a direct use of numbers to represent things. 666 is classic.

Numbers, just like every other thing, gets its meaning from the bible and not from any other form of knowledge. A careful study of the digits 1-9 in the bible reveals what they mean. You can do a study of it, but I will highlight the meaning of some numbers here:

1- God: No other! (Deut 6:4)

2- Witness: One other, Minimum number of witnesses (Deut 19:15), Abraham's covenant were witnessed by God and Abraham alone.

3- Unity/Trinity: Baptism of Jesus, 3 compartments in the Tabernacle of Moses, 3-fold things (Pro 22:20)

4- Balance: 4 faces of the creatures in Ezekiel 1, 4 Gospels in the bible, 4 creatures before the throne of God (Rev 4:6).

5- Grace: In Isaiah 9:6, Jesus has 5 names, David confronted Goliath with 5 stones, the 5th time Noah's name was mentioned in the bible, he found Grace! He gave gifts unto men- 5 fold ministry

6- Carnality/Man: Man was created on the 6th day, number of man (Rev 13:18)

7- Perfection: 7 days of creation/rest/sabbath, 70 weeks of Daniel, 7 colors of God's covenant with Noah in the Rainbow, the wall of Jericho came down on the 7th day, 7 days in a week, 7 bowls of wrath of God in Revelation, 7 spirits of God, 7 candles of the menorah.

8- New Beginning: Jesus rose on the 8th day, 8 people survived the flood of Noah, Jesus appeared 8 times after resurrection, 8 men wrote new testament, Jewish babies are circumcised on the 8th day.

9- Finality/Completeness: 9 fruits of the Spirit, 9 Gifts of the Spirit, 9 favoured widows in the entire bible, 9th hour is for prayers, Matt 27:45, Acts 3:1

Numerology is not psychic or fictional, it is biblical and it must be seen with the eyes of the Spirit and not any other way. God can speak to us through numbers like He did to many in the bible, but we must not stretch the meaning beyond the bible into things like zodiac month signs.

It is simply meant to aid our prophetic insight into the spirit. Numbers are not dead, only the Spirit makes them alive!

Nigeria In The Bible

As we approach another celebration of the independence of the nation Nigeria, I will like us to know some things about this nation that the LORD has shown me. If a man wants to know the details of God's will for his life, he would need to read the things that have been written or said about him by God. Prophecy is one of the ways that the will of God can be known. Prophecy is voicing God's will. This same principle applies to territories as territories also have a will established by God for them to fulfill. In the scriptures, we see details of many nations that existed in that time. Nations like Israel, Egypt, Syria, Edom, Philistine, Babylon and in the new testament, we saw countries like Italy and Spain which still exists till today. Most of the nations that were mentioned in the old testament bear a new name today. There were some nations mentioned in the old testament, but their names were not specified. God, through the prophets spoke about the destiny of some na

Prophetic Perspective: Israel vs Iran

The middle east situation between Israel and Palestine is a very complex one that can be viewed from many sides. Whichever perspective you choose, there will always be an unresolved issue. It is exactly a year that Hamas, a terrorist group in Palestine, dealt the biggest blow ever to the Israeli state, killing over 1000 Jews and abducting about 251. It sent a shock wave round the world. The October 7, 2023 attacks kick-started a war that has escalated to involve Lebanon, Syria, Qatar and Iran. Israel has gone all out attacking Palestine in a wave that many world leaders have been cautioning them to consider the civilians. ORIGIN OF THE WAR The origin of the war in the middle east can be traced back to the 1920s when Britain, in conjunction with the Arabs defeated the Ottoman military in Jerusalem and took the city as a colony of the British royalty.  It wasn't long before the British decided to release the land to the Arabs that fought alongside them. But, there was another set of

Oranmiyan (Part 7: The Birth of Oranmiyan)

Before we look at the birth of Oranmiyan, it is necessary to learn about a certain man- Ogun. The war situation between Oduduwa and Obatala gave Oduduwa a lot of concerns. He gave birth to seven sons whom he sent into other locations to establish themselves and regard Ile Ife as their source. This is why we refer to Oduduwa today as the projenitor of the Yoruba people whereas, Oduduwa's family only took over the thrones of an already established tribe. It is historically inaccurate to refer to the Yoruba people as children of Oduduwa. Taking over a place and changing their culture completely is a pattern that is seen in a nation in the bible. That nation is Babylon. When Babylon takes over a place, they suck out their culture and give them Babylon culture. They take the best sons of the land and train them in Babylon ways so that the original culture of those people will be lost. This is what Nebuchadnezzar did with Daniel and his friends and the reason why the princes of Babylon d
