For about 2 weeks now, I have had a thought in my mind about "pathways". We all have a past, a story. Actually, our life is a story. We all have a past, present and also a future. The future many times brings fear to us and we are always advised to focus on the future, let go of the past by doing great works in the present. It's so easy to say because the past can sting so hard!
When I was in the University, the president of my fellowship made a statement that I can never forget because it brought a great deal of peace to my heart. He said "God knows about your past". I was so relieved by that statement. My past really doesn't have any "terrible" event like that, but I have so many memories I wish I never have. Many of them, scars of being disobedient and misunderstood.
Right now, I look at what use to be wounds and I see scars. Not just scars, but beautiful scars. Souvenirs of a Warrior; marks of a Victor. I have used my past experiences to encourage several people today and I have just wondered how I would have helped those people if I didn't have those experiences, then I remembered- "God knows about my past".
I agree with you that God didn't cause those experiences, but He surely knows about them and if you will cooperate with Him, you will be wowed by what He can bring out. Your past isn't out of God's plan. Actually, what God would have you do today, He has been preparing you for it ever since. No wonder He told Jeremiah that He has known him from his mother's womb.
Our pathways are different just like our purpose in God is different. We will not have the same experiences because we don't have the same purpose. Lemme show you some examples.
Kenneth Hagin was bed fast with a terminal disease at a tender age. Doctors were already consoling the parents. Even pastors had lost hope. They were all preparing for his death, but in all of that, his pathway to purpose had started. He had to study the bible on his sick bed to receive his healing and he went on to become one of the greatest teachers of the bible with signs and wonders!
Ayo Babalola on the other hand got saved admist witches and wizards. The entire land was in deep occultism. If he will survive, he must have enough energy to stand, so the man had to launch out completely into the power of the Holy Spirit. If all the testimonies about the life of this man were recorded, he would be the greatest man the body of Christ has ever seen. Some circles in C.A.C even believes that wherever you put Apostle Paul in heaven, Ayo Babalola must be there too.
Kenneth Hagin's pathway was different from Ayo Babalola's pathway. Benson Idahosa had his own story. Have you heard the story of what happened to T.L. Osborn in India? Do you know the culture that encouraged Prophet Selvarag to become so consecrated to God?
Your country of birth is not a coincidence at all. Your family also, is not a coincidence. God planned it. Your past is not a waste. They point to something in your future. Stop pitying yourself and begin to find the purpose behind your past experiences. There is so much God can do when He finds a weakness. His strength bubbles and bubbles until the entire world comes around to watch.
Submit to God and let Him turn you into a Wonder!!!
