While on campus, we were taught that if we have God, we have all things. It looked very vague to me as I couldn't see how having one thing could be equal to having all things. However, before I graduated, I became foolish enough to believe that if I have God, I have all things.
Have you ever been at a point where you want to get something that you need and you are certain of getting it, but God says you should not get it yet? Well, at first it could be easy but as the pressure builds, you begin to wonder why God has asked you to wait.
David had a similar experience when he had the opportunity to kill Saul and end his miserable life. He was living in the bush without money, food and shelter. Saul has turned his life into the worst anyone could think of.
Now, here is an opportunity to take what rightfully belongs to him, after all Prophet Samuel had anointed him. What else? David had a prophecy from God. What more could he need? Yet he waited.
Severally, we wonder why God is still telling us to wait when the coast seems to be clear by our own calculation. I don't have all the answers, but I have read the bible and saw people that didn't have the answers too, but they believed.
Abraham waited, Sarah waited, Joshua waited, Rachel waited, David waited, Daniel waited, Zechariah waited, the Apostles waited. Do you know Jesus waited too?
When I was having my industrial training some years back, I started attending a brother's prayer meeting where we were always two. The other brother once told me something. He said "We do not have an irresponsible Father". That word stuck with me and has helped me at several points.
If God says wait, ask for strength to wait perfectly. Brother James told us that patience has a work that it does within us. Allow the work to continue even though you may not see it. Trust God. Let's see a verse of the bible.
Hebrews 10:37 [" For] [yet a little while,] [And] [He][] [who is coming will come and will not] [tarry.] He will eventually show up. Don't let go of God at any point. Out of Him, we can do nothing. Wait.
When I was in the third year in college, the president of my fellowship told me that If I lose everything around me, I must not lose the word of God. My advise to you is that you stick to the Word. Study it over and over. Believe God concerning the pressure that is coming from your environment; walk in love.
Acts 20:32 "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Don't be tired of believing; WAIT!

But the thing about our God is,he is never too late
When Jesus came around, the understanding of waiting upon the Lord was unveiled cos in ur eyes it may seems it's getting late but he will come at the right time
