So, it is no longer news that we are in dark days and the prophesy that gross darkness will cover the people is already glaring in the earth. Many people who once professed Jesus have left the course and have become apostate. This is a genuine concern that everyone must carry in their heart and interceded about.
One major tool the enemy is using against our soul is the systems that are completely wrapped up in unrighteousness and corruption. The systems, that we cannot do without, have turned into a weapon in the hand of the enemy that is being used to attack our souls. The seven spheres of influence today is heavily captured by the enemy and have become strongholds installing unrighteousness in the souls of men.
As intercessors, we have to come up with a stronger arm to combat the hoards of hell that have wrapped the systems that form these spheres. I read about the intercessory work of Cindy Jacobs in USA and some other countries and I am challenged about the growth of intercession in Nigeria. The intercessory ministry in Nigeria needs to mature and become much more strategic in our operations.
One key gap that I have identified is the lack of watchers, gatekeepers and judges that are dedicated to the systems in the spheres of influence. We have few hands in charge of these spheres and this is giving so much room to the enemy to operate. I thank God for the level of intercession in Nigeria today, but there is a large room for growth.
Let us take the education sector as example. Some of the systems that make up that sphere are the primary education, secondary education, university education, policy makers, governmental leaders to mention a few. These systems have been captured by the enemy and they are causing a lot of havoc therein. We need men who will be standing in the gap for all of these systems.
Cindy Jacobs shared in her book how they have identified a day in the year where they can affect the economy of USA (…that day is a portal). They would gather at the floor of the Stock Exchange house in New York and pray. They have seen tremendous impact from this action they do yearly. We need such kinds of movements in Nigeria.
Nigeria seems captured today by the enemy and God is calling us to fight. We need to gather ourselves into troops. The prosperity gospel that has not been balanced in kingdom values has made a lot of people to get jobs, but do not carry a sent mentality to establish God’s kingdom. We need hands everywhere. Not just in church. The intercessory movement must rise and enforce the will of God.
