I do not like the idea of reacting to an event. As believers, we have an advantage in the Holy Spirit to know about future events and either prevent or facilitate it. Events should not meet us unawares. This writing is not as a result of the recent happenings in Kogi state, but as a result of an impulse from the LORD.
It was a night before a time to pray for the nation that I jerked out of my sleep around 2am. I checked my heart to pick why I woke up (The LORD often wakes me up during the night to share things with me), but I didn't pick it at first. I slept back and jerked out of sleep again in another 30 minutes as I saw a man throw a beehive into my bed. This time, fear had filled my room so much that I could almost smell it.
I thought it's a threat to my life, so I picked my bible. (I have learned never to pray out of fear. I ask the Holy Spirit for direction) I confessed Psalm 91 and went into meditations. As I meditated, I knew that the picture I saw as I woke up the second time of a man throwing a beehive into my bed wasn't an attack on me, but on Kogi state, Nigeria.
Kogi state has just passed a season of elections which was nothing short of bloody. I thought the worst has passed until my experience. While meditating, the LORD made me see that there is a fresh threat aimed at Kogi state and this attack is in form of a beehive which signifies an attack that spreads easily. This could be a highly communicable disease or a terrorist attacks that will occur in different parts of the state.
There is a need to raise prayers for the state to stand against the onslaught of the devil and ensure righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost is established in every nook and cranny of Kogi state. Let us not forget the leader of the state too. Pray for him.
