My Mum and I plays a game and she has always won since Adam. Growing up has not made me to detect the trick she uses to make sure she stays unbeaten. At the beginning, it would look like I am about to win, but eventually she would come out with the trophy.
The game is quite simple. There are some things that cannot stay for long in our house if I know where it is kept. One of it is bottled groundnut. Anytime my mum brings something she knows 'Lanre must not see into the house, she plays the game.
Mostly, I would see it when she brings it into the house, but she would take it into her room and hide it. My cunny self would not ask for it when she is around. I would go and search for it whenever she is not around, but I wouldn't see it. When she returns, she would simply enter the same room I had ransacked and bring out the bottle of groundnut. It's can be really frustrating.
You see, our God does the same thing too, but in for different reason. My mum hides the bottled groundnut FROM me while God hides things FOR us. Have you ever pondered on Psalms 91:1 before? Why does God live in a secret place?
Several other verses of the bible confirms that God lives in a secret place. A secret is something hidden, concealed or confidential. No wonder astronauts cannot find anything. Is God hiding? There is one verse in proverbs that said that it is the glory of God to conceal a thing.
Everyone that is hungry for God must know that 'God is hiding'! This will help you to know the value of 'searching' Him out. Paul, the apostle told us that no one can know the things of a person except the spirit of the person. That's why we have the Holy Spirit in us.
To know God, we must search. God is not hidden from us, He is hidden for us. The knowledge of God doesn't jump on any man. You have to spend time reading the bible, books, listening to messages and praying in the Spirit. It's not automatic, it is manual.
Knowing God is the greatest thing that can happen to a man. Search for the hidden One from your secret place. Let your search be sincere and consistent.
If you seek, you will find! Hopefully, one day I would crack my mum's code.
