6th May-Second Day in Camp
First full day in camp was quite interesting as we sang and danced as soldiers joyfully sang barracks song and made an already tired me to forget the complaints of my thigh muscles.
I woke up to see most of my roommates already dressed; i hurriedly got dressed in my white top and short, brushed my mouth and before 05:00, we were on the parade ground which ended about 10:00, ate and went back to start queues again.
It was shocking to discover that there was no queue for the next stage of my registration rather it was lobbying that got people to the front. Big trouble for a quiet fellow like me. After 5hours of fruitless lobbying(...the soldier in charge didnt even look at my face for once), we had to go for evening parade.
The excuse of many is "When Nigeria becomes advanced, everything will be computarised". The technology in Nigeria is already okay to stop subjecting ourselves to unnecessary stress. Please, if you are administrating anything, get up to date technology(...i had to learn 2 web design languages too;am on the third) and make sure you avoid queues to the very last extent that you can.
NYSC had two people answering over 2000 corpers. If you ask me, i will sincerely tell you that that isn't wisdom. Bible says wisdom (how to) is the principal thing.
2 Peter 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
On the parade ground, every corper was punished and i remembered one of my favorite truths of the scripture. Corpers were like a family and it is the same way that at rapture, there will be two families and each will receive the same kind of treatment at rapture. It is your family that will decide our eventual eternal home.
Am glad i belong to the family of God.
Opening ceremony is in few hours time and i am still trying to figure out how to tie the NYSC belt.
