My pastor called me this evening and asked me why he has not been seeing my writings. I explained to him that I have been on a heavy routine in recent weeks, exams et al. He raised an issue that has gathered dust in recent times. I understood what he was talking about. I have always been vocal about issues that affect the church and he knows that I, by Grace and Mercy, wield a measure of influence on the media and it should not be kept back.
Many things have happened in the past that led many believers astray. The catastrophic events that led them away were not as saddening as the silence of those who could have stopped it. The silence of the church has led many in the valley of decisions to make the wrong decision. Bible says that in the multitude of counsel, there is safety.
This thought brings to mind the Thyatiran church. The error of that church was not as a result of what they did. It wasn't because they believed something wrong. It was because they kept quiet about what was going wrong in town. Jesus accused them of permitting it. Look at how Jesus puts it:
Rev 2:20- But I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself to be a prophetess, and to cause My servants to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices.
The word 'allow' in that verse is from the Greek word that means 'suffered', 'let', 'alone', 'permit', 'left', 'committed'. Jesus was literally accusing them of colluding with Jezebel because they were quiet about her activities. Jesus didn't consider that silence to be golden. The comments of Jesus on the Thyatiran church showed that the church could have stopped Jezebel if they had said something.
I am grateful to God for some issues that have been exposed for what they really are and has helped many to take a redress. I remember seeing the passion in Prophet Tomi Arayomi when he was exposing the witchcraft behind the Black Lives Matter movement. I followed Pastor Chris too during the lock down. I have never seen him like that before. We can no longer keep quiet. 'Omoye to woja'.
Do you know that the Jewish calendar is different from the Roman calendar? Recently, the Jews celebrated a new year. They just stated the year 5781. Jewish numbers mean three (3) things: they have a numerical value, a melody/song they represent and lastly, each number mean a letter/word/sentence. Without stressing you, the number 5871, in words reads ‘the mouth of the Lord’ or ‘the speakings of the Lord’. It is not a coincidence that we are covering our mouths at this time.
There is an attempt to shut the ‘mouth of the Lord’ or the ‘speakings of the Lord’ in this time. You saw how media giants were removing prophetic perspectives to the Corona virus from the internet. Do not let the word of the LORD in your mouth be stopped. Say it out! Broadcast it! Let the world know the word! This is the time to be more resolved to declare God’s word even if no one wants to listen.
Some issues may not affect you directly, but if God has given you an influence, especially in the media, don't keep quiet. Don't hope that some other people will do it, let us know what God is telling you about it. Stand up for the sake of others. It's called passion for souls. I remember Peter Tan lamenting in one of his books that the church has left some topics out of our teaching curriculum despite our members making decisions in that line.
The kingdom age is so near that we are already seeing the powers of the age to come. Stop thinking with respect to your assembly alone. Let's face the real deal. We are being affected by the things around us. Your silence is no longer golden.
